Happy Friday friends!

This week, we’re leaning into the new (ish?) trend of gifting a beloved picture book instead of a card at a baby shower!  It's a perfect way to start a library full of treasures (and let's face it, those adorable cards often get tossed - while books can last a lifetime.)

Be sure to inscribe the book with the date, your name, and a little note welcoming the baby to the joy of reading.  Fun Fact: I have an inscribed copy of Where the Wild Things Are that my brother gave me before the birth of my first child. It's 29 years old. Now THAT'S a gift that lasts ;)

If you're looking for the perfect book, we've got you covered with our list of over 60 extraordinary favorites!  Have a request?  Let us know!

It seems to be the season of baby showers in my world - so (upon request), I’ve started to add a few classics into our selections for new babies

I put together this collection as a special request for parent scheduled to be a mystery reader in her child's class.  I'm sure this trio of zany Mongolian death worms, stylish roosters and story about avoiding books all together will delight the class! (I want to see pictures!)

Sharing a few of my favorite intriguing, bookish, and otherwise delicious Internet finds from the week.  Hoping you find a little something in the mix that brings you joy:

Speaking of baby showers, here are some tips for throwing a bookish-themed baby shower. (I’m taking notes)

On that note, has anyone else forgotten how to host a gathering of friends for dinner during COVID? This article might help me get my dinner party groove back. (Camille Styles)

I was fascinated to read about How Barnes & Noble went from Villain to Hero. (New York Times)

I inhaled Shauna Niequiest’s new book I Guess I Haven’t Learned that Yet last week.  It was inspiring and hopeful and resonated with me in so many ways.  I want everyone I know to read it so we can discuss the power of long walks and pink dresses and good friends to get us through the darkest moments.

I’m crushing on this incredibly fun dress. (for me)

And how cute would this swimsuit be paired with a copy of Song of Frutas? (for a much smaller person)

And can we talk Strawberry Crumble Pie?  It's Springtime in a crust. (joy the baker)

Have a wonderful weekend!

xo,
